taking care of the mind-body
Most of us are quite clear about the “problems” that arise in life. What isn’t clear is how to "be" with problems wisely without reinforcing the accompanying mind-body pain from which we seek relief.
As a Licensed and Board Certified, DBT-trained counselor, and, more aptly, as a human being, I understand suffering and know from observation and experience that human beings have an incredible capacity to both tolerate and be at ease in life no matter what arises in life. Utilizing evidenced-based practices with timeless principles of mind/body/spirit, I will support you with a compassionate presence into the extraordinary process of embracing and responding to life, just as it is, here and now, no matter what is happening internally and externally.
In mental health counseling, a collaborative process that accesses our collective wisdom, I work with people who experience pain associated with trauma events and PTSD, stress/anxiety, and depression. I specialize in harm-reduction and working with "addictive" behaviors, which can be defined as any behavior (actions, thoughts, emotions) that one seems unable to stop no matter the efforts or consequences related to the behavior that increase pain and unwanted emotions. Through the arts of counseling and dance, I delight in exploring with others how to embrace all of life, moment by moment, from the vibrant Consciousness that embraces All.
